Life can be a challenge when you're a small dinosaur trying to survive at the bottom of the food chain. In what could be the first zombie graphic novel that truly has a teen audience Death Valley tells the tale of seven high school students who after being accidently locked in the bomb shelter located in their school come out to find that the population has been turned into flesh eating zombies. Sounds simple and childish enough but this wonderfully weird story is full of enough surreal twists and turns to keep you entertained. The illustrations are very, very cool. She is a real mermaid held against her will by the man who runs the freak show. His homecoming, however, isn't as calm and welcoming as he would like.
